Hotel Axel

Axel Hotel is a liberal and tolerant place where everyone is welcome irrespective of their sexual orientation. Opened on July 1, 2003, Axel Hotel Barcelona is the first hotel of the Axel Hotels chain and the first designer hotel directed toward the gay community. After six years of operation, the Axel Hotel Barcelona has signified style and has become the world standard for gay accommodations.

From the beginning, the team has taken care of the minutest details. Without forgetting its architecture and design: the Axel Hotel Barcelona was constructed in a remodelled building from the end of the 19th century, conserving its fade and its spectacular acid-etched windows from the first modernist period. Its interior spaces, totally restored, were conceived such that design and comfort are united in a warm atmosphere. Furnishings from Vitra, Kartell and Swan, fabrics from Kenzo, the Axel mosaic and the lighted photograph boxes by Emilio Lekuona shape the exclusive Axel universe.
